While they might have a few dastardly threats and fiendish sayings, the villains can also be the source of some serious Disney wisdom.

Although recent Disney theatrical releases like Encanto and Turning Red have been very well received, they seem to be lacking a familiar element seen across a multitude of Disney's animated media. Not since Zootopia's Bellewether has Disney given viewers an honest-to-evilness villain. Narratives change and culture/audiences evolve, but there will always be admiration for Disney's best bad guys.

They have the best songs, some of the most recognizable costumes, and easily some of the best lines penned by the house of mouse. While they might have a few dastardly threats and fiendish sayings, the villains can also be the source of some serious Disney wisdom. With the right point of view, even the malicious and malevolent can become memorable mentors.

A gamblin' boogeyman might not be the first character many think of when they're considering a Disney villain to follow, but he does have a fun outlook over his devious deeds. Then again, threatening to eat Santa Claus isn't exactly the noblest of pursuits.

They might not all be gamblers playing with snakey dice, but giving the best effort is something everyone should strive to do. So long as they're not trying to ruin Christmas, that is.

This verse from Doctor Facilier's "Friends on the Other Side" might be more of a warning than a token of wisdom, but there's a double meaning hidden beneath the voodoo, hoodoo, and things he's not even tried. In a sort of twisted way, this line can be interpreted as a "count thy blessings" sort of take.

What Prince Naveen failed to realize before striking a deal with the Shadow Man is that he could have had his freedom all along if he wasn't so obsessed with his lavish lifestyle. As Mama Odie would later reveal, he knew what he wanted but was blind to what he really needed.

Everyone runs from Shere Khan, but he's not the sort of villain to get tied up in the wild, over-the-top antics like some of his peers. He's a different, higher class of Disney villain, and has no time for frivolous grand entrances, jokes, or showy musical numbers. He's a tiger on a mission to find his next meal and enjoy the thrill of the chase.

The quote above is a very productive attitude to have to avoid social drama, get the job done, and simply move forward. Most might not be hunting down man-cubs, but keeping a steady pace and avoiding needless conflict is certainly a quality of Shere Khan many can afford to adopt.

At the end of the day, no one loves Gaston more than Gaston. He might be positively primeval, but Gaston does know a thing or two about self-love. Part of Gaston's bold and brawny swagger comes from the high opinion he keeps of himself, but that's not to say it isn't something viewers can take away from.

While the god of mischief has existed long before the Marvel incarnation, the MCU's representation of Loki deserves an honorable mention for this iconic catchphrase. Loki is a lot of things, including brash, treacherous, self-centered, narcissistic, and prideful, just to name a few. However, he does have a pretty good outlook despite disrupting the Sacred Timeline.

To an extent, everyone is burdened with a glorious purpose, what they need is the desire to pursue it. Hopefully, universal domination isn't on the top of most people's to-do lists.

Easily one of the most fabulous and fun villains in Disney's roster, Ursula knows a thing or two about presentation. Being part octopus is far from the most attractive feature, but that doesn't mean she has to conform to certain villainous stereotypes regarding her appearance.

Ursula simply exudes confidence in her body and appearance, and that's part of her overall appeal. There's a message of self-love here, but with a more physical approach to the matter. The sea witch rocks her curves and brassy nature and has no shame about it, encouraging many viewers to do the same.

Short, sweet, and to the point, Scar cuts through the fat and delivers a quote that would be forever associated with his character. Next to the immortal "I'm surrounded by idiots," "Be Prepared" is the lanky lion's "Hakuna Matata."

Being prepared doesn't always mean for the coup of the century, but leaving the door open for new opportunities, having the right attitude or tools, or simply just keeping an open mind. Scar might have been on to something.

While most casual Disney fans are quick to associate this quote with Carl, Ellie, or even Russell, it's actually Charles Muntz that delivers one of the film's most iconic lines. Although Muntz might have lost the original motives for being a great explorer, he certainly inspired young Carl and Ellie to pursue their trip to Paradise Falls.

He might have been the villain, but Muntz was right. Adventure is out there, but the definition might be different depending on the individual. Opportunity comes knocking at different times for different people, and sometimes they just need that little push to pursue their next expedition. Adventure is out there, but only if people pursue it.

Ernesto De La Cruz is a plagiarizing murderer, but at least he practiced what he preached. To an extent, he was right. Success doesn't come for free, and taking initiative certainly goes a long way. That being said, there are better methods than poisoning a friend's chorizo.

Jokes aside, Ernesto's methods might have been the wrong way to go about things, but his quote is one of the most poignant lines to be said by a Disney villain. It's not exactly "carpe diem" but it gets the point across nevertheless.

Of all the Disney villain quotes that have simply gotten better with age, Cruella De Vil's advice to Anita in the live-action adaptation of 101 Dalmatians is solid gold. While this line might have come just a breath after Anita's marriage to Roger, the line is neither wrong nor malicious.

Cruella De Vil is one of the most outrageous Disney villains in their canon, and to receive such a compliment is something of a rare honor. This sage advice could apply to anyone in or out of the fashion industry, regardless of talent. A more elegant way of saying "use it or lose it," there's no denying this quote's truth or practical applications.
