Don't expect to start farming.

Update 3.1 of Battlefield 2042 will be released soon, and it will bring some major changes to the portal mode. Changes to XP, progress, and custom games are at the top of the list.

Battlefield Direct Communication, a Twitter account used to receive messages from developers, wrote a thread detailing these changes. To clarify, yes, you can definitely get XP in the battlefield portal. "All feature modes work in the same way as [Conquer]] and [Breakthrough] in Total War," the thread said, "Earn XP at full price, unlock new weapons, ribbons and accessories, and your mastery progress. "Starting from the 3.1 update, XP can also be obtained in custom Portal games, but at a different speed-it has a maximum limit that can be reset every minute. This upper limit has been different in the past. As the number of portal custom games grows, the developer DICE will continue to "monitor and make favorable adjustments."

Before the release of Update 3.1, we would like to answer some common questions about XP, unlocking and mastery, as they are related to #BattlefieldPortal Check out the thread below 👇👀 pic.twitter.com/2RxZp7SlxL

Why is it a hat? DICE explained that without it, “the farm server will eventually fill the server browser with a worthless experience.” Preventing endless XP spam through the one-minute limit can solve this problem. Similarly, ribbons and mastery (including weapon attachments) cannot be obtained in custom games. You can only unlock the "Total War, Danger Zone, and Official Portal Experience".

Since Respawn CEO Vince Zampella is the new franchise head, you can expect more changes in the Battlefield series. Considering that the 2042 Steam player base has dropped by 70% since its release, he certainly has his job.
