A successful Kickstarter event will bring LED dice to the Dungeons and Dragons event in the near future.

Playing Dungeons and Dragons is about to begin. Pixels, the electronic dice, aim to bring customizable light shows to future D&D events with the help of Bluetooth and smartphones. Although most people think of using pencil and paper when playing one of the most iconic games in the world, technology has slowly begun to permeate the culture in the past few years. Pixels, currently live on Kickstarter, aim to take D&D to a whole new level with their RGB lights.

At the time of writing this article, more than 14,000 people have supported Pixels, which means that many Dungeons and Dragons players are very interested in playing shiny dice. The campaign initially sought to raise US$200,000, and it far exceeded its goal. So far, more than 2.5 million U.S. dollars have been raised, and the initial event is still one week away. Pixels’ description reads: “Full of LEDs, smart and no bigger than ordinary dice, you can customize them to light up when and how you want.” “They are very strong, smooth and sharp, and can work for several hours at a time. Then you just need to charge it with the included charging case."

Pixels dice are a bit heavier than other dice on the market, but still not the heaviest. In addition, they are even waterproof for those out-of-control DnD activities. For those who want to know, Pixels can collaborate with Roll20, Foundry and other online platforms to carry out activities. Depending on the design chosen by the player, the LED lights will shine through the entire face (midnight galaxy and aurora sky) or only through the numbers (agate black and hematite gray).

As for throwing things, there are batteries and lights inside. Pixels products are very sturdy and can be thrown away, thanks to the use of resin, which can protect the lights and batteries. This is also a source of extra weight. Resin also means that the dice are all one piece, seamless, and wireless technology is used for charging. With all the bells and whistles, Pixels will provide players of Dungeons and Dragons with 7 sets for $200.

Pixels Dice should be launched this time next year, although some early Kickstarter supporters may eventually get them earlier than others. Jean Simonet is the person behind the design, and he wants potential buyers to know that the product was first developed as a premium dice. The light is an extra bonus, he thinks it is already a good dice to keep the game going. If you want to participate in Pixels Electronic Dice before the end of next week, you can go to Kickstarter immediately. A promise of $39 will get you one dice, and $72 will get two dice.

Woody Allen's Rifkin Music Festival will be available in American theaters and digital editions in January.

Since 2017, he has been a writer for Movieweb. I like to play Catan when I'm not writing about superheroes and Star Wars.
