Los Angeles Lakers star Carmelo Anthony returned to the lab to begin his offseason training before the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. He proudly wore a purple and gold color scheme. The 37-year-old veteran signed a one-year contract with the team this summer and hopes to add some firepower when he enters the 19th season of the NBA as one of the newest members of the Lakers national team.

On Monday, Melo went straight to work because he pitched some shots at the training ground in Los Angeles and decided to treat the Lakers fans with his all-purple outfit. And, as always, Anthony got the barrel directly (via the Los Angeles Lakers):

After the training, Melo even sent a special message to the fans that everyone should be hyped:

"What's the matter, Lakers fan? You already know who it is. I went back to the building," Melo said. "To all the fans, all the Lakers fans, the Lakers national team and all the Melon fans present. This will be an exciting season, but it starts now, and from today, the work must be done behind the scenes,"

Anthony is very happy to be reunited with his old friend LeBron James, because this will be the first time in their two NBA careers on the same team. Melo and LeBron have been playing since high school, and seeing them playing together in the latter part of their careers is indeed a very special thing.

Imagine if Carmelo Anthony won his first NBA championship in Los Angeles with LeBron James this season. One can dream, right?
